Whether you are an elite athlete, a member of a gym, team or club or simply enjoy a fell walk on a weekend, an injury can occasionally happen. A sports injury may be sudden or amount gradually over a long period of time. A number of factors may lead to injury including impact, overexertion, overuse, not warming up properly, poor technique or inappropriate equipment. Knees and ankles are commonly prone to sports injuries but any part body; muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments could be affected. We aim to assess, treat and get you back to your sporting activity with the tools to prevent re-injury.

Upper limb including shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand

Common conditions:
Ligament sprain – stretch, twisted or torn ligament, a tissue that connects bones. Common areas include ankles, knees, shoulders
Muscular strain – ‘pulling a muscle’ involves stretching or tearing fibres of the muscle. Commonly shoulder, groin, hamstring, calf and quads
Back pain – caused by impact sports like rugby, poor posture, weak core
Tendinopathies – including Tennis and golfers elbow, Achilles, patella, gluteal, rotator cuff – strains and overuse injuries to the tendons of muscles.
Bone injuries – Shin splints –soft tissue inflammation/ tears, fractures including stress fractures
Shoulder injuries – overuse, repetitive overhead forces, poor postures, impingement, dislocation, rotator cuf
